CUC launches inaugural OneVoice27 Adventist Run

The Central Uganda Conference (CUC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has officially launched the inaugural ‘OneVoice27 Adventist Run,’ a landmark fundraising event designed to spearhead digital evangelism and establish a state-of-the-art Media Centre.

The run, scheduled for September 13, 2026, will serve as a cornerstone initiative ahead of the global Church’s 2027 commemorations, which mark approximately 2,000 years since the baptism of Jesus Christ.

Operating under the theme “One Voice, One Run, One Purpose,” the event aims to strike a balance between health promotion, community engagement, and spiritual mission.

Running for a Digital Mission

According to the organizers, all proceeds from the event will be directly invested in developing the CUC Media Centre.

The funds will be utilized to enhance quality media production and leverage emerging communication platforms to share the Christian message more effectively across the region.

“We intend to make the OneVoice27 Adventist Run an annual event, with each edition supporting a different mission-focused cause while encouraging healthy living and strengthening community partnerships,” CUC Communications Director, Pr Perez Justus shared.

Event Categories and Route

The event is designed to accommodate participants of all fitness levels, featuring three distinct categories:

  • 21-Kilometre Half Marathon (For professional athletes and seasoned runners)
  • 10-Kilometre Run (For recreational runners and corporate groups)
  • Kids’ Run (A dedicated route for families and children)

The race courses will traverse Kireka Hill and its neighboring communities, offering a challenging yet scenic route for participants.

A Broad Community Appeal

The CUC expects a diverse turnout for the inaugural event, anticipating participation from church members, professional athletes, recreational runners, corporate organizations, and the general public.

As an administrative unit of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda, the CUC oversees extensive ministries including education, health, and community service.

With the launch of this run, the conference is taking a decisive step toward modernising its outreach, ensuring that the gospel message finds a powerful, modern voice on digital platforms.
