Pr. Rogers Kaggwa returns to Uganda Union as Associate Secretary

In a major administrative move, the Uganda Union Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has announced the appointment of Pr. Rogers Kaggwa to the position of Associate Secretary.

The decision was finalised during a sitting of the Uganda Union Executive Committee on June 08, 2026.

Acting on a report and recommendation from the church’s Nominating Committee, the executive body voted to approve Pr. Kaggwa to this vital administrative role within the Uganda Union Mission.

His appointment marks a significant addition to the church’s central leadership team as they look to streamline operations and spiritual oversight across the country.

The energetic and always motivated pastor was the communication director in the previous era before he was replaced by Eld Kugoza Isaac. Pr Kaggwa’s experience and positivity breathe new energy at the Union as the quinquennium rolls on.

Following Pr. Kaggwa’s appointment, the Executive Committee addressed structural expansions following a directive from the regional headquarters.

The East Central Africa Division of Seventh-day Adventists recently voted to officially attach West Nile to the Uganda Union as an attached local territory.

To manage this newly incorporated region, the committee voted for Pr. Okello Robinson took office as the Coordinator of the attached territory.

Strengthening the Mission

According to an official press release issued by the church’s Communication Department from their headquarters on Gaddafi Road, the leadership expressed high confidence in the newly selected leaders.

“The Uganda Union Mission leadership congratulates the elected leaders and expresses confidence in their commitment to serve the Church faithfully and advance the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church,” the statement reads.

The church administration emphasised that these appointments are part of an ongoing commitment to strengthening internal leadership and ministry structures, ensuring the denomination is better equipped to serve its growing membership and local communities throughout Uganda.
