For them, church wasn’t a building, it was a small crackling handheld radio.
Imagine a listener in a remote village, hands deep in the soil of their garden, or a vendor weaving through the chaos of a busy marketplace.
They tune in to the Africa for Christ broadcasts led by the General Conference Treasurer, Pr. Paul Douglas. At first, it’s just background noise, a voice competing with the wind and the commerce.
But then, a word sticks. A message of biblical truth pierces through the daily struggle.
“The messages didn’t just offer religion; they offered a lifeline,” says one listener. “What started as a radio program became the catalyst for a radical life change.”
We have seen the fruit of these broadcasts firsthand:

The journey that began with a simple radio frequency is about to reach a powerful crescendo. On May 16, these listeners will transition from anonymous voices on the airwaves to the focal point of a Historic Converts Convention.
This isn’t just a meeting; it is a public declaration. As hundreds step into the baptismal waters, they are leaving behind the background noise of their old lives.
This act of baptism symbolises the culmination of a long walk of faith, a transition from seeking truth in private to standing boldly in the light of a brand-new spiritual chapter.
