“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:2–3
Reflection:
The season of tests and trials is not wasted time in your life—it is forming time. It is where what you believe is quietly tested, what is hidden within you is revealed, and what is unshaped is gently refined.
Faith is tested not to destroy it, but to strengthen it. Like gold refined by fire, faith becomes more genuine through pressure. In moments of difficulty, what you truly rely on is revealed—not just what you say you believe, but what you actually trust.
Growth is also revealed in these seasons. You begin to notice how far God has brought you, how your reactions are changing, and how your endurance is increasing. What once overwhelmed you may now only bend you—but not break you.
And in it all, humility is taught. Trials remind us that we are not self-sufficient. They bring us back to dependence on God, where true strength is found. Humility is not loss—it is alignment with truth: that we need God daily, deeply, and continually.
So even in this season, nothing is wasted. God is at work in the testing, the revealing, and the teaching.
Prayer:
Lord, in seasons of testing, strengthen my faith. Help me grow in character and walk in humility before You. Teach me to trust Your purpose even when I do not fully understand it.
Action:
Identify one current challenge and choose to see it as a place where God is shaping your faith, growth, and humility. Write one lesson you believe He is teaching you through it.
