HIGHLIGHT: Personal Bible Study is at the heart of having a vibrant and enduring relationship with God. God’s word speaks into our twenty-first-century lives in meaningful ways, just as it has during past centuries. In a similar way to keeping any relationship alive, we should look for ways to keep our devotional lives vivid as we abide in Jesus, trusting His promise in Isaiah 55:11.
Memory Text: Isaiah 55:11 NKJV
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
SABBATH; INTRODUCTION
God promises that His Word never returns empty (Isaiah 55:11)—but is it bearing fruit in your life? Many of us own multiple Bibles, yet struggle with consistency, focus, or even knowing where to begin. Is Scripture your greatest treasure, or a book that stays mostly closed? This week, we meet you right where you are, whether your Bible study is thriving or stalled. Together, we’ll explore simple, practical ways to read the Bible with purpose and depth. Discover how God’s Word can move from your shelf to your heart—and truly transform your walk with Him.
SUNDAY; TIME
Hasty reading of the Bible does not benefit such a reader much. One can only understand and experience the Bible’s serious gems when one carefully studies them. By studying the Bible, one gets to know more about God and themselves. One also gets to experience the beauty of God’s character and how He worked with people in history which makes us love Him more. Therefore, for one to fully benefit of the precious gems in the Bible, one must ask God to give one the desire to know Him more, one must surrender one’s time to God and one must be intentional about spending time with God even when one may not feel like doing so.

MONDAY; A PLACE
Jesus got up every morning before dawn, got to a solitary place and there, He sought and communed with God. This dialy communion with God is what gave Him the strength to overcome the daily temptations of life. We today need to do the same much more than ever. You should locate a special place, can be a certain chair in your house or outside, that you can meet with God through prayer and Bible study every day before engaging with the world’s hustles. And incase you miss a day or days due to some emergencies, keep encouraged and resume as soon as possible. It is a daily decision that we make to have an abiding relationship with God.

TUESDAY; DEEP BIBLE STUDY
For you to have an effective deep study of the word of God, you have to do these three things. First, you must pray. Through prayer, you invite the Holy Spirit who brings the difficult passages to understanding. Secondly, make it a point to note down the parts of the passages and verses that stand out for you the most. In doing so, it helps with keeping the insights to memory. Thirdly, ensure to share what you study with someone else. This helps solidy the concept studied in mind. Furthermore, with deep Bible study, as has always been throughout church history, God’s people get clearer understanding of His word with deep Bible study.

WEDNESDAY; A DOUBLE BLESSING
It’s a blessing to take part in deep study of the word of God’s word. However, it becomes a double blessing when we share those precious treasures with our friends and family. These spiritual conversations do strengthen us. In addition, our Bible study not only strengthens us but it also enables us to encourage others whom we meet each day. Sharing God’s word keeps it to memory as well.
Furthermore, considering that our spiritual lives are a marathon, we should ask the Lord to keep running our races with constancy while keeping our eyes on the goal. Hence, incase we feel slack, we must get back on course immediately.

THURSDAY; ‘TIS SO SWEET’
King David, the Psalmist declares in the 119th Psalm, line 104 that God’s word is sweeter than honey from the honeycomb and that through God’s precepts, he gets understanding. God’s words are sweeter than anything that this world can offer. Springs from the fountain of God’s word are the only waters that can truly satisfy you and I in this world and in the world to come. God’s word challenges us to grow in Jesus Christ. We need to intentionally set aside time for God’s word and with an attitude of submission and humility, be willing to follow what it teaches us.

FRIDAY; FURTHER THOUGHT
The purpose of Bible Study is to know God and to grow in your relationship with Him, for this is what life eternal is-to be with Him whom we love. Like a miner, digging for precious jewels, we should be constantly searching the Bible. Each of us is called individually to be a student of prophecy. Many who read and even teach the Bible do not comprehend the precious truth they are teaching. Many give the words of Scripture a meaning that suits their own opinions.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS;
- Read again John 15:1-8. What is Jesus telling us about abiding in Him, and why is this so crucial to our faith?
- During the past week, how much time have you spent in prayer and Bible reading? What does your answer tell you about changes you might have to make in your priorities?
- In what ways have you found the message in the quote above to be true for you? See also Psalm 119:105.
- In what concrete ways can you “seek the LORD while He may be found”(Isaiah 55:6, NKJV)?
- What attitude do you usually come to the Bible with? Is there anything that needs to shift? Why is an attitude of humility and surrender to the word so crucial?
