Following a historic change in leadership at the Central Uganda Conference (CUC), President Pr. David Simwogerere has introduced a vision that seamlessly merges efficient administration with a profound focus on spiritual renewal.
In a recent One on One engagement, Simwogerere addressed the Church’s roadmap for the next five years, signalling a tenure that will be defined by institutional integrity and social impact.
The architect of a five-year blueprint
At the heart of Simwogerere’s address was the unveiling of a strategic five-year roadmap. Moving from the North Buganda Field to lead the Church’s most influential conference is no small feat, yet Simwogerere spoke with the calm of a man who has already mapped the terrain.
His vision is one of structural consolidation, ensuring that the Conference’s operations are not just functional, but exemplary.
From the completion of the referral hospital project to the streamlining of tithes and offerings management, his blueprint seeks to turn the CUC into a model of efficient stewardship.

Faith in Action: Beyond the pulpit
A recurring theme in Simwogerere’s message was the belief that the Church’s mission must extend far beyond the four walls of the sanctuary.
He emphasised that for the Gospel to be good news, it must manifest in tangible ways, specifically through health and education.
”We are workers together with God,” he noted, echoing the divine mandate that faith must be accompanied by labour.
His administration intends to revitalise the Conference’s network of schools and clinics, ensuring they provide high-quality, affordable services that reflect the character of Christ to the wider community.
Modernising the message for a new generation
Addressing the challenges of 21st-century evangelism, Pastor Simwogerere called for a shift in how the Church engages a rapidly changing world.
He challenged leaders and the laity alike to find innovative ways to share the messages without compromising traditional Adventist values.
For Simwogerere, modernising the message isn’t about changing the Truth, but about changing the medium to ensure the youth and the unreached are met where they are.
A mandate for transparent stewardship
In an era where institutional trust is often fragile, Simwogerere struck a chord by calling for absolute integrity among the believers.
He issued a firm reminder that church leadership is a sacred trust, not a platform for self-indulgence.
By prioritising purity and firmness in leadership, he hopes to foster a culture of transparency that inspires confidence among church members, ensuring that every resource is utilised for the advancement of the Kingdom.
A divine partnership
Concluding his address, the President reminded the faithful that while plans are made by men, success is granted by the Almighty.
He called for a spirit of cooperation, urging every member to see themselves as a worker together with God.
”God causes the trees to grow, but we prepare the timber and build the house,” he remarked, inviting the Central Uganda Conference to join him in the labour of building a legacy that will stand until the Master returns.
