Morning Devotion: Before we retire to bed

The day’s verse

“And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts… Now the blood shall be a sign for you… and when I see the blood, I will pass over you.” — Exodus 12:7,13

Reflection:

Tonight is deeply significant. In the biblical calendar, this is the eve of Passover (Pesach), a moment of remembrance, deliverance, and divine intervention. On this night, Israel prepared the lamb, marked their homes with its blood, and trusted God for protection and freedom.

Passover is not just history, it is prophecy fulfilled in Christ. The lamb pointed to Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice, whose blood brings deliverance not from Egypt, but from sin.

This night reminds us of three powerful truths:

  • Preparation matters because hearts must be ready
  • The covering matters only what is under the blood is spared
  • Deliverance is God’s work not human effort

As you prepare to sleep, reflect on your spiritual house. Is it covered? Is your heart aligned? Are you living in the reality of redemption?

Application for Today:
Do not delay your spiritual readiness. What God is about to do requires a prepared heart. Examine your life, apply the blood of Christ through faith, and remove anything that does not belong. Deliverance is not just something God did—it is something you must step into.

Prayer:

Lord, as I reflect on this Passover night, prepare my heart. Cover my life with the blood of Christ. Remove anything in me that does not align with Your will. Help me live in the reality of Your deliverance. As I sleep tonight, let me rest under Your protection and in Your salvation. Amen.

Resting Thought:
When the blood is applied, judgment passes over. Sleep tonight covered, protected, and redeemed.
